CIVILS GANGER / WATER INFRASTRUCTURE PROJECTS – VARIOUS LOCATIONS THROUGHOUT THE UK. Permanent, Full-Time | Monday to Friday. Hourly Pay: up to £18.66 DOE + Benefits.
S&B Utilities is currently seeking experienced Civils Gangers to join our team. The Civils Ganger is responsible for overseeing and ensuring the successful execution of civil projects across our operations within the water network infrastructure, both regionally and nationally.
Responsibilities- Ensure high-quality, on-schedule work completion.
- Oversee tasks such as mains laying, ducting, draw pit construction, and reinstatement.
- Perform excavation techniques, including mechanical and manual digging.
- Provide weekly safety, plant, and labour performance reports.
- Provide technical guidance and supervision on civil engineering tasks.
- Identify risks and implement mitigation strategies to ensure safety and environmental compliance.
- Ensure work meets industry standards and regulations; conduct inspections and quality checks; implement corrective actions as needed.
- Coordinate plant and resource requirements with the Civils Site Manager; communicate and enforce health and safety protocols.
- Experience: Civils Site Supervision; a strong background in the water industry is preferred.
- Certifications: CSCS Supervisor Card, SSSTS training, CPCS Lift Supervision and Signaling, EUSR Blue Card, full UK driving licence.
- Health & Safety: IOSH/NEBOSH/SMSTS (obtained or in progress).
- Customer Service: Strong focus.
- Soft Skills: Influencing, organisational, problem-solving, leadership, team collaboration.
- Personality Traits: Assertive, confident, friendly, adaptable, safety-conscious, tolerant, punctual, flexible.
