BARLOW MULTI-FUNCTIONAL OPERATOR

Hargreaves Industrial Services provides a varied Operations and Maintenance service to Drax Power Station.

The role supports the Barlow Reclaim operations, handling FBA, Coal, and Mitigant Slurry, managing material stocks and transportation using Mobile Plant.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the required supply of material to the station is maintained and undertake housekeeping and stock management of the Mitigant plant areas in accordance with Hargreaves contractual requirements.
  • Operate Front End Loaders to load the screener and ADTs with product as per power station requirements.
  • Operate the ADT to transport product to the production areas as required.
  • Operate the Dozer to reclaim PFA.
  • Operate the Screener to size product ready for further processing.
  • Carry out any other reasonable instruction to ensure the smooth operation of the site as directed by the supervisor.
  • Promote and maintain a positive attitude towards safety, complying with Hargreaves and Drax safety rules.
  • Comply with face‑fitted dust mask rules, remaining clean shaven at all times on site.

Qualifications

  • Positive attitude towards safety.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Strong team‑working and communication skills.
  • ECITB or EMSS safety passport or equivalent.
  • Risk assessment training.
  • Manual handling training.
  • COSHH awareness training.
  • Experience in materials handling operations.
  • Competence within HIS and Drax Power safety & Golden Rules.
  • Flexible, punctual and self‑motivated.
  • Tolerant of diverse working situations & conditions.
  • Tracked Dozer training.
  • Screening operations training.
  • FEL Training.
  • ADT Training.
  • Ability to work well independently and with minimum supervision.

4 days on - 4 days off shift pattern with call‑out rota.
