Civils Gangers to join our team.

The Civils Ganger is responsible for overseeing and ensuring the successful execution of civil projects across our operations within the water network infrastructure, both regionally and nationally.

The role briefly encompasses the following: -

  • Ensuring high-quality, on-schedule work completion.
  • Overseeing diverse tasks such as mains laying, ducting, draw pit construction, and reinstatement.
  • Performing various excavation techniques, including mechanical and manual digging.
  • Providing weekly safety, plant, and labour performance reports.
  • Providing technical guidance and supervision on civil engineering tasks.
  • Identifying potential risks and implementing strategies to mitigate them, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and environmental standards.
  • Ensuring that all work meets industry standards and regulations, conducting inspections, quality checks, and implementing any necessary corrective actions.
  • Coordinating plant and resource requirements with the Civils Site Manager Ensuring health and safety protocols are clearly communicated and strictly followed, while upholding high standards of safety and quality.
  • The ideal candidate will possess the following skills/experience/ attributes:-
  • Experience: Civils Site Supervision- a strong background in the water industry is preferred.
  • Certifications: CSCS Supervisor Card SSSTS training, CPCS Lift Supervision and Signaling, EUSR Blue Card, full UK driving licence.
  • Health & Safety: IOSH/ NEBOSH/ SMSTS (obtained or in progress).
  • Customer Service: Strong focus.
  • Soft Skills: Influencing, organisational, problem-solving, leadership, team collaboration.
  • Personality Traits: Assertive, confident, friendly, adaptable, safety-conscious, tolerant, punctual, flexible.
