Responsibilities
- Ensure the safe completion of routine maintenance, new installations and fault finding of electrical assets within an industrial environment.
- Work to Work Order Card and associated Risk Assessment / Method Statement.
- Report discrepancies between written work instructions and activity carried out.
- Maintain effective communication within a multidisciplinary team; report incidents and provide feedback.
- Follow a positive safety attitude and adhere to site procedures.
- Carry out installation, maintenance, and planned maintenance of electrical equipment as per operation manual schedules.
- Conduct examinations, inspections and record results of electrical equipment.
- Perform fault finding and repairs on electrical assets including motors, switchgear, valve actuators and site lighting.
- Perform Portable Appliance Testing (PAT).
- Operate workshop equipment and tools as required and complete relevant documentation recording HAVS.
- Actively seek ways to improve service.
- Attend the client’s Safety Tour and mandatory training.
Qualifications
Essential
- Completed a recognised apprenticeship or equivalent experience in industrial electrical installations.
- Understanding of the 18th edition of Electrical Installations Regulations.
- Familiar with 3‑phase industrial systems.
- NVQ Level 3 or equivalent.
- Experience in fault diagnostics and repair solutions.
- Knowledge of electrical plant (including working within DSEAR zones).
- Safety passport or equivalent.
- Experience in an industrial engineering environment.
Desirable (training may be provided)
- Experience of electrical systems typically found in a conventional CCGT power plant.
- COMPEX certificate (training may be provided).
- ONC (or equivalent academic qualification) in an electrical related discipline.
- IOSH – Working/Managing Safely Certificate (training will be provided).
- Knowledge of fire alarm systems.
