S&B Utilities is currently seeking experienced Civils Gangers to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure high‑quality, on‑schedule work completion.
- Oversee diverse tasks such as mains laying, ducting, draw pit construction, and reinstatement.
- Perform various excavation techniques, including mechanical and manual digging.
- Provide weekly safety, plant, and labour performance reports.
- Provide technical guidance and supervision on civil engineering tasks.
- Identify potential risks and implement strategies to mitigate them, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and environmental standards.
- Ensure that all work meets industry standards and regulations, conducting inspections, quality checks, and implementing any necessary corrective actions.
- Coordinate plant and resource requirements with the Civils Site Manager.
- Ensure health and safety protocols are clearly communicated and strictly followed, while upholding high standards of safety and quality.
Ideal Candidate Experience:
- Civils Site Supervision – a strong background in the water industry is preferred.
Certifications:
- CSCS Supervisor Card
- SSSTS training
- CPCS Lift Supervision and Signaling
- EUSR Blue Card
- Full UK driving licence
Health & Safety:
- IOSH/NEBOSH/SMSTS (obtained or in progress)
Customer Service:
