WORKING SUPERVISOR – Severn Trent

Contract type: Permanent

Hours of work: 40 hours, Monday–Friday

Overview

The Working Supervisor role provides supervision of small teams of staff to carry out engineering projects within the STW Framework and Hargreaves Industrial Services, ensuring work is delivered to high quality and safely within programme constraints and cost plan.

Responsibilities

  • Day to day operational duties of the team
  • Safe deployment of team – maintaining health, safety and quality standards
  • Ensure work is completed to a high standard
  • Communicate progress or issues to Clients, the HIS Framework and Project Manager
  • Promote a proactive safety culture and drive a zero harm culture on all projects
  • Deliver projects on time
  • Identify efficiencies and opportunities for innovation
  • Provide information for key project tools such as inspection and test plans, project programmes and risk registers

Qualifications

  • Minimum of five years’ experience supervising staff
  • Mechanical or electrical formal qualifications through the apprenticeship route
  • Supervisory skills and experience
  • FLT licence preferable
  • CDM awareness training
  • Welding, rigging, slinging or confined space training preferable
  • Ability to set team to work safely, including all safety paperwork, RAMS, POWRA etc
  • Ability to oversee project work to completion
  • Strong communication skills at all levels
  • Positive attitude to safety
