Business Development Executive

A vacancy has arisen for a Business Development Executive in our Waste Management Services contract within Hargreaves Industrial Services.

This role supports revenue generation, customer retention, and new business acquisition, particularly within Tier 3 accounts.

The role works closely with the Business Development Manager and may involve occasional client visits to build relationships and support deal progression.

Responsibilities

• Proactively generate new business opportunities, focusing on Tier 3 hunting activity.
• Support the management and growth of existing customer accounts across all tiers through high quality service delivery.
• Act as a primary point of contact for nominated customers, ensuring strong relationship management.
• Provide desk based sales support while accompanying the BDM on selected client visits when required.
• Handle inbound and outbound sales activity, including lead generation, follow ups, and pipeline management.
• Ensure all customer interactions are accurate, compliant, and commercially sound.
• Process and fulfil customer orders efficiently within agreed timelines.
• Resolve customer enquiries and complaints promptly, escalating where necessary.
• Prepare quotes, proposals, presentations and contracts for internal and external stakeholders.
• Increase both existing and new business sales.
• Be the primary point of contact for nominee customer related enquiries.
• Fulfil orders in a timely and efficient manner.
• Field customer enquiries, resolve any customer complaints and escalations when required.Prepare presentations, proposals and sales contracts to be delivered to internal and external parties.
• Champion and participate in compliance & SHE initiatives.

Qualifications

Essentials:

• Proven track record in a commercial, telesales or desk based sales environment.
• Strong communication and relationship building skills.
• High level of organisation and administrative capability.
• Commercial awareness and negotiation skills.
• Full UK driving licence.

Desirables:

• Experience within the waste management or environmental services industry.
• Knowledge of waste streams, compliance and service solutions.
• Results driven with a proactive "hunter" mindset.
• Strong customer focus with the ability to manage multiple accounts effectively.
• Resilient and self motivated with a positive attitude.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to prioritise workload and manage time effectively in a fast paced, desk based role.
• Team player with ability to collaborate with BDMs and internal teams.
• Problem solving mindset focused on delivering solutions for customers.
