Ash Reclamation Manager

A vacancy has arisen for an Ash Reclamation Manager who would be responsible for effective management of a team of people responsible for ash handling and plant at Drax Power Station.

Hargreaves Industrial Services provide a varied Operations and Maintenance service to our client at Drax Power Station. We handle, maintain and reclaim materials including FBA, Coal and Mitigant Slurry whilst managing material stocks and transportation using a wide range of Mobile Plant.

The role briefly encompasses the following:

1. Manage, lead, motivate and allocate work to a team of employees.
2. Ensure procedures are followed correctly to maximise coverage of your area and that work is finished on time and all relevant paperwork is provided after every shift and signed off.
3. Provide assistance in the field when and where needed.
4. Ensure all operational measuring tools are up to date and forwarded to the relevant parties on time (KPI data etc).
5. Utilise manpower to get the most effective performance through the shifts and manage and ensure all Health & Safety Procedures are followed and adhered to.
6. Brief and inform your team members when and where applicable (Toolbox talks).
7. Conduct regular client visits to check service.
8. Look at ways to continuously improve service.
9. Effectively manage holiday and rota cover.
10. Ensure all the team have the appropriate qualifications and inductions to operate in the areas.
11. Effectively manage the fleet of vehicles that apply to the role, ensuring safety checks, checking of pre-starts and booking in with the garage.
12. Attend all client required weekly/month meetings.
13. Prepare monthly reports with support of team on the contracts performance.
14. Manage costs on site for all elements.
15. Ensure all H&S measures are in place and completed, such as hazard reports and take 2 etc.

The ideal candidate will possess the following skills:

1. Good communicator at many levels, colleagues, other contractors, and clients.
2. Must be able to populate, use and keep documented records as part of the role.
3. Passport to Safety / IOSH (NEBOSH preferred).
4. WAMITAB (Preferred).
5. Flexible approach to work.
6. A strong team player / Leader.
7. Ability to work independently and on their own initiative.
8. Good time keeping and willing to work overtime as necessary.
9. Good communication skills, both with colleagues, other contractors and clients.
10. Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.
11. Reactive and proactive in service/ operations to ensure no disruption.
