Position Overview
We are looking for a Design Engineer to join our Engineering team based in Barnsley. The role will support the engineering and projects business, working alone or as part of a team.
Responsibilities
- Creating visual representations of structures and systems
- Preparing comprehensive outline layout drawings
- Preparing sketches and measuring accessible equipment
- Developing detailed layout drawings
- Creating drawings using AutoCAD and/or SolidWorks
- Inspecting all designs for accuracy
- Knowledge of drafting procedures
- Knowledge of MS Office software
- Skilled in solid modelling and 3D features
- Find creative design solutions to problems
- Present prototypes and designs to customers and project managers
Qualifications & Experience
- Qualified engineer with a minimum of 10 years post‑qualification experience in the design of industrial plants
- Strong communication skills at all levels
- Understanding of current legislation and practice relating to health and safety
- Strong IT skills
- Hold UK driving licence
