We are recruiting a Senior Residential Support Worker to join a childrens home, supporting children with emotional and behavioural difficulties. This is an opportunity for an experienced practitioner who is confident leading shifts, supporting colleagues and maintaining safe, consistent care.
About the role
As a Senior Residential Support Worker, you will take a lead role on shift, supporting children with daily routines, emotional wellbeing, education and development. You will oversee the smooth running of shifts, manage behaviours, respond to staffing issues and ensure safeguarding procedures are followed at all times.
You will provide guidance and supervision to staff on shift, modelling best practice and maintaining a calm, structured and nurturing environment for children.
What we are looking for
We are looking for a Senior Residential Support Worker who is confident, reliable and emotionally mature, with experience supporting both children and staff within a residential setting.
Essential requirements include:
Level 3 qualification in Caring for Children and Young People
At least two years experience working in childrens residential care
Confident driver with a full UK driving licence
Strong understanding of safeguarding procedures and best practice
Experience leading shifts and managing day to day challenges
Ability to manage childrens behaviours calmly and consistently
Experience supervising staff and supporting team development
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Clean enhanced DBS, or willingness to complete one
