Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented electrician to support maintenance and modifications in an active industrial environment. Initial tasks include inspection of PROFIBUS network connectors, cable routing, and installation of repeaters, as well as minor panel modifications. For the right candidate, this position can grow into control panel builds, PLC diagnostics, and even PLC and HMI software development with training and guidance.
Responsibilities
- Inspect and adjust PROFIBUS connectors and verify correct cable shielding/termination.
- Carry out cable routing checks and install small components (e.g. repeaters) inside control panels.
- Perform minor panel modifications under instruction (e.g. wiring changes, tidy-ups).
- Record work with clear photographic evidence and written notes.
- Ensure safe working practices around heavy machinery at all times.
- Participate in remote meetings (Microsoft Teams) and provide status updates.
- Contribute to continuous improvements in documentation and reporting.
Skills
- Recognised electrical qualification.
- Experience working safely in commercial or industrial environments (not only domestic).
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow structured procedures.
- Competent computer skills: Word (basic reporting), Excel (simple data handling), and Teams.
- Good communication skills and reliability — able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Willingness to learn new technical areas such as control panel wiring, PLC-based diagnostics, and eventually PLC and HMI software development.
- Valid driving licence and ability to attend customer sites as required.
