At Harding+, we’re recruiting for a Buyer to join our Fine Jewellery team, you will have a strong commercial retail background and a true passion for jewellery. As a Buyer you will source and curate meaningful products that resonate with our guests and become treasured memories of their time onboard.
About the role:
Reporting to the Category Manager, you will manage the category through market research, range selection, assortment planning, brand sourcing, and supplier relationships.
Building trusted relationships with your key vendors, as well as being able to negotiate confidently will be critical in the role. You will become the product expert, creating and reviewing core ranges that excite our guests and reflect global trends.
Based in Avonmouth on a hybrid working basis – 2/3 days per week
Compensation – competitive salary, bonus scheme, pension, 4 x life assurance, healthcare cash plan, 26 days annual leave(plus the opportunity to buy an additional 5 days)
What you will be doing:
Key areas of responsibility:
- Vendor management – end to end management including sourcing new suppliers and negotiation
- Range management – full management by category, working closely with merchandising and suppliers to review accordingly, as well as global promotional programmes
- Teamwork – bring your knowledge and experience to collaborate with the team to support commercial growth and deliver great results across the FJ category
The role will work cross functionally across Harding, specifically with Merchandising, Marketing, Operations and Visual Merchandising to ensure product supply, stock, promotions, and positioning of product on board.
About you:
- Proven Retail Buyingexperience preferably within Fine Jewellery
- Excellent and effective verbal and written communication skills, with high attention to detail
- Resilient, with the ability to prioritise in an ever changing environment
- Good presentation and face to face communication ability required, with proven negotiation skills
- Adaptable attitude towards change, opportunities, and project management as required
- Strong IT skills including Excel and PowerPoint
- Structured planning, organisation, and time management skills
- Happy to travel internationally to Trade Shows when needed
- Must have an existing right of eligibility to work in the UK
