As the E-Learning Instructional Designer, you will play a pivotal role in executing the People Development Strategic Playbook across the business. This position involves a contribution to the creative design of engaging learning for blended, multi-format support for the learner experience and employee lifecycle. This will include leveraging adult learning and instructional design best practice and will support the People Development Roadmaps to enhance Team Member capability around behaviour, skills, knowledge, and performance. You will collaborate with key stakeholders to identify development needs, develop effective online solutions, and help create a culture of continuous learning and development.
Key Responsibilities
- Work with and consult subject matter experts (SMEs) to identify learning needs and objectives, gather accurate design requirements and facilitate an effective development process.
- Collaborate with SMEs and cross-functional business partners to ensure learning meets the objectives for the business/department and individual.
- Partner with SMEs to maintain/revise internal content and curriculum.
- Contribute to the development and communication of the People Development Strategic Playbook and Roadmaps.
- Partner with People Development team members on projects and programs that improve the overall learning experience.
- Manage and complete projects within a specified timeline while prioritising and working on multiple projects simultaneously.
Needs Assessment and Analysis
- Conduct regular needs assessments to identify skill gaps and recommend People Development Roadmap priorities across the business.
- Establish learning metrics to evaluate and analyse the impact and return on investment of People Development initiatives on individual, departmental and organisational performance.
- Utilise analytics and feedback from team member performance and engagement surveys to help drive strategic decisions that support both individual, departmental and business growth.
- Recommend adjustments to ensure desired outcomes are met and products within the People Development portfolio are continuously evolving to ensure effective initiatives.
Learning Program Management
- Develop project plans for design/development of identified solutions (e.g., in-scope/out-of-scope elements, timeframes, resources, roles/responsibilities, priorities, cost estimates, feasibility analyses, risks/assumptions).
- Design and develop dynamic instructional content and simulations to create interactive, engaging, impactful courses appropriate for the business need and audience.
- Creatively market to all team members to maximise engagement (flyers, email communications etc.) with the People Development Academy portfolio.
- Ensure programs are aligned with industry best practices and tailored to meet the specific needs of the business.
- Contribute to and maintain the People Development Academy portfolio training/course catalog.
- Create a cohesive style guide and ensure a consistent design language is applied to the portfolio.
- Write and edit audio voice-over scripts for e-learning, when needed.
- Liaise with vendors, negotiate best term agreements and undertake internal vendor registration.
- Stay abreast of emerging learning technologies and tools to enhance the delivery and accessibility of the People Development portfolio.
- Monitor subscriptions for learning platforms across the business and provide data to inform decision-making for utilisation purposes.
- Manage the People Development Academy LMS for the Group and provide data for reporting purposes.
- Create assessments and evaluations to measure the effectiveness of learning interventions using key performance metrics.
What are we looking for?
We are looking for an individual who has excellent written and verbal communication skills with a commanding presence. The role is best suited for a candidate who thrives in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment with a passion for sports and gaming.
The ideal candidate will have:
- 5+ years of experience in L&D, HR, Talent Management or similar roles, ideally within technology, creative industries or online gaming sectors.
- Bachelor's degree in Learning and Development, Human Resources or professional equivalent such as Certified Professional in Learning and Performance (CPLP), Certified Learning and Development Professional (CLDP) or Certified Professional in Training Management (CPTM).
- 2+ years' experience developing corporate e-Learning in tools such as Captivate, Storyline, and Camtasia.
- A curious mindset and a strong desire to learn and develop with evidence of Continuous Professional Development.
- Strong understanding of andragogy principles, instructional design, and learning technologies.
- Contemporary knowledge of e-learning practices and strategies, including micro and bitesize learning.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, facilitation, stakeholder management to effectively communicate with all levels within the business and outside vendors.
- Experience of implementing and using an LMS and online learning technology.
- Proficiency in analysing data and using insights for decision-making and recommendations to business leaders and the People Leadership Team.
- Strategic thinker with the ability to align learning initiatives with organisational goals.
- Familiarity with industry trends and best practices in learning and development.
- Experience in the Gaming Industry a distinct advantage.
