Its products include patient registration software (used by 26% of GP practices in England) and Bookable Search, which helps patients find and book GP appointments. Its latest product, Bookable Navigator, automatically books appointments for existing patients. The company operates from within a working GP practice in Stratford, East London, and is backed by Y Combinator (S23), Innovate UK, and the NHS Clinical Entrepreneur Programme.### The roleThis is a mid-level Product Designer role working directly with the CEO. You would own the design of the Bookable Navigator Inbox: the interface used all day by receptionists, care navigators and clinicians to receive, triage and act on patient requests. The role sits within the Product department and is on-site four days a week at the Stratford office, with one day working from home (Wednesday). It is not a senior or leadership position; it is aimed at a designer with three to five years of experience who wants significant ownership and fast career growth.### What you would do* Talk regularly to practice staff through interviews and by sitting in on real shifts to understand how the Inbox is used in practice* Research and scope product tickets before they reach engineering, so the team builds the right thing* Use the product yourself until you know its friction points better than anyone else* Dig into product metrics to find where users get stuck, then translate that into design work* Measure whether shipped changes actually improved outcomes* Take ideas from rough MVP through to polished, high-fidelity designs* Work side by side with engineers from first sketch through to what goes live* Use AI tools (such as Claude) every day to research, prototype and move faster### What they are looking for* At least two products shipped and used by real people* Experience working in a product team and at a startup* Strong attention to UI detail, down to spacing and micro-interactions* Comfort talking to users and getting close to the problem* Willingness to seek out feedback and improve quickly* Ability to work with data and make a case from numbers* Existing use of AI tools in your workflow* Bonus: product-manager thinking — asking why before how, scoping problems to what matters, and having opinions about what to build next### Working arrangementsThe role is based in Stratford, East London, within a working GP practice. You would be in the office four days a week (Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday), with Wednesday as a work-from-home day.### Pay and benefitsSalary is described as competitive, plus equity. Additional benefits include: homemade breakfast and lunch in the office daily, a £250 annual learning budget, a £60 per month health and fitness budget, a one-off local living benefit of £5,000 (within a 30-minute walk of the office) or £2,500 (within a 30-minute cycle), team social days every eight weeks, an annual team holiday, two paid volunteer days per year, seven additional paid days for meditation leave, a standard pension (3% employer, 5% employee via Nest), and parental and fertility leave provisions.## DetailsLocation: London, UKOn-site or remote: Hybrid (London)Salary: n/aSector: HealthcareRole: Product designSeniority: GeneralOrganisation: For-profit## About Healthtech-1Healthtech-1 is a London-based healthtech startup that builds AI-driven automation tools for NHS primary care, covering patient registration, eligibility checks, triage, and appointment booking.
