About the Role Hard Hat Recruitment are seeking an experienced Passive Fire Estimator to lead and develop the estimating divison for an established client. This is a senior position where you’ll not only manage your own portfolio of clients and tenders, but also oversee and delegate workload across a growing estimating team. You’ll take ownership of deadlines, ensure accuracy of quotations, and be a key link between the estimating and operations teams. Key Responsibilities * Head up the estimating team for all passive fire projects. * Delegate workloads and provide guidance to other estimators. * Manage your own client portfolio, including pricing and quotations. * Take responsibility for the team’s deadlines and accuracy in delivering tenders. * Liaise closely with the Operations team to ensure smooth workflow from pricing through to delivery. * Train and mentor new and junior staff as the department expands. * Report directly to senior management on estimating performance and pipeline activity. * Maintain and build relationships with key clients and suppliers. Skills & Experience Required * Proven experience as a Passive Fire Estimator within the fire protection industry * Strong technical knowledge of passive fire products and systems (fire stopping, fire doors, intumescent coatings, cavity barriers, compartmentation). * Experience managing or mentoring a small team. * Excellent communication and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple deadlines. * Commercially aware with strong negotiation skills. * Proficient in relevant estimating software and Microsoft Office packages.
