We’re looking to bring in a Mechanical Estimator to support a growing pipeline of rail and infrastructure projects for one of our clients. This is a full-time contract role where you’ll be responsible for pricing mechanical packages from design stage through to tender submission.

This isn’t a role where you’re just handed numbers to plug in, you’ll be expected to:

  • Produce accurate take-offs directly from drawings
  • Build detailed bills of quantities
  • Interpret specifications, ITTs, and technical documentation
  • Consider installation, sequencing, and programme
  • Engage with subcontractors for pricing and input

You’ll work closely with a hands-on Director and operational team, who will support on labour allowances and buildability — so you’re not working in isolation.

What we’re looking for:

  • Strong experience pricing mechanical packages
  • Proven ability with take-offs from drawings
  • Solid understanding of specifications and delivery
  • Experience working with subcontractors
  • High attention to detail

Nice to have:

  • Rail / infrastructure project exposure
  • Experience using Ensign
  • Basic understanding of electrical interfaces

Rayleigh-based (some flexibility) £350–£400/day. Travel and expenses paid. Full-time contract.
