We’re looking to bring in a Mechanical Estimator to support a growing pipeline of rail and infrastructure projects for one of our clients. This is a full-time contract role where you’ll be responsible for pricing mechanical packages from design stage through to tender submission.
This isn’t a role where you’re just handed numbers to plug in, you’ll be expected to:
- Produce accurate take-offs directly from drawings
- Build detailed bills of quantities
- Interpret specifications, ITTs, and technical documentation
- Consider installation, sequencing, and programme
- Engage with subcontractors for pricing and input
You’ll work closely with a hands-on Director and operational team, who will support on labour allowances and buildability — so you’re not working in isolation.
What we’re looking for:
- Strong experience pricing mechanical packages
- Proven ability with take-offs from drawings
- Solid understanding of specifications and delivery
- Experience working with subcontractors
- High attention to detail
Nice to have:
- Rail / infrastructure project exposure
- Experience using Ensign
- Basic understanding of electrical interfaces
Rayleigh-based (some flexibility). Travel and expenses paid. Full-time contract.
