We are seeking an experienced Senior Legal Project Manager to play a pivotal role in the delivery of complex legal matters across the firm. This is a highly visible position, partnering closely with partners, matter teams and clients to drive disciplined execution, cost transparency and consistently high-quality outcomes. In addition to leading major matters, you will act as a senior leader within the Legal Project Management function — mentoring colleagues, shaping strategy, and helping to expand the impact of LPM across the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Leading complex legal matters end-to-end – Owns matter delivery across the full lifecycle, ensuring robust planning, effective resourcing, cost control and high-quality execution.
- Providing leadership within the LPM function – Mentors and develops Legal Project Managers, setting standards for best practice and supporting capability growth across the team.
- Supporting LPM strategy and growth – Partners with the LPM on strategic planning, service positioning and the continued expansion of Legal Project Management across the firm.
- Driving continuous improvement – Embeds best-practice methodologies, identifies opportunities to improve matter delivery, and champions consistent, scalable ways of working.
- Partnering on innovation and legal technology – Works closely with Innovation and Legal Technology teams to integrate tools that enhance transparency, efficiency and the client experience.
- Client-facing engagement and pitching – Contributes to pitch materials and represents the LPM function in client discussions, demonstrating value and supporting business development efforts.
- Trusted advisor to lawyers and stakeholders – Provides guidance on LPM methodologies, tools, reporting and risk management, helping teams navigate complexity with confidence.
- Risk and communication management – Anticipates and mitigates risks, maintaining clear, consistent communication across all stakeholders throughout the matter lifecycle.
- Building LPM capability across the firm – Develops and delivers training to upskill lawyers in structured, effective matter management and promote adoption of LPM principles.
Skills & Attributes
- Proven LPM experience – Significant experience as a Legal Project Manager supporting partners, clients and complex matter teams within a law firm environment.
- Strong people leadership skills – Demonstrated ability to mentor, coach and influence others, with a collaborative and confident leadership style.
- Deep knowledge of legal delivery – Strong understanding of legal processes, law firm operations and the commercial drivers behind matter delivery.
- Legal technology awareness – Up-to-date knowledge of emerging legal tech and a practical ability to embed tools into day-to-day delivery.
- Exceptional communication and stakeholder management – Able to influence at all levels, simplify complexity and build trusted relationships with lawyers and clients.
- Commercial and client-focused mindset – Strong problem-solving, prioritisation and decision-making skills, with a clear commitment to outstanding client service.
