A leading global professional services organisation is seeking a Systems Accountant to join its finance team in Bristol. This newly created role will bridge the gap between finance and technology, helping to drive continuous improvement, system optimisation, and insightful reporting across core platforms.
Key Responsibilities of the Systems Accountant
- Support system upgrades and projects - Work closely with Finance and IT to deliver system enhancements, upgrades, and implementations.
- Ensure data integrity and reporting accuracy.
- Maintain and develop reporting tools, ensuring high-quality, consistent financial data across platforms.
- Act as systems liaison for Finance - Serve as the primary contact between Finance and system vendors or IT teams, translating business needs into technical solutions.
- Deliver training and documentation - Create user guides, deliver training sessions, and provide day-to-day support to finance users.
- Drive process automation and efficiency - Identify opportunities to streamline reporting, month-end, and budgeting processes through systems automation.
Skills & Attributes of the Systems Accountant
- Qualified or part-qualified accountant - ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent; experience in professional services is desirable.
- Strong systems expertise - Proven experience with finance systems such as SAP, Oracle, Elite 3E, or similar ERP platforms.
- Analytical mindset with attention to detail - Able to troubleshoot data or reporting issues and suggest practical improvements.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder skills - Comfortable engaging with both technical teams and non-technical finance users.
- Proactive and solutions-driven approach - Enjoys identifying and solving problems, with a focus on improving the user experience.
