Harbury Surgery is looking for a qualified Dispenser to join our small, friendly team. The role is for 20 hours per week, working Monday to Friday from 1.30pm - 6.30pm. The successful candidate must be flexible and able to work confidently within a dispensary in a busy General Practice environment. We ask for flexibility to cover annual leave and sickness.

Main duties of the job:

  • Processing and dispensing prescriptions
  • Managing monitored dosage packs
  • Ordering medication
  • Answering patient queries via telephone and dispensary hatch
  • Supporting day-to-day dispensary operations

About us:

Harbury Surgery is a proactive, progressive and well-established practice spread across 2 sites. Our team of 5 GPs, two practice Nurses and a wider clinical team that includes Clinical Pharmacists, Social Prescribers and Health and Well Being Practitioners serve almost 6,000 patients. We are also a training practice with a regular team of registrars, medical students and nursing students year round. We all work together to provide a high standard of care to our patients.

Person Specification:

Qualifications: Must have an NVQ2 or equivalent accredited course in pharmacy services.

Experience:

  • Strong communication skills with patients, colleagues and other healthcare professionals
  • Able to use your own initiative with the ability to problem solve issues
  • Confidentiality is essential
  • Attention to detail and accuracy when carrying out tasks
  • Experience of working in Primary Care/General Practice
  • Experience of working with the public in a customer service role
  • Experience of working with EMIS clinical system, Microsoft Office, Word & Excel
  • Experience of dosette boxes would be beneficial
