Hybrid Work Arrangement

This position will be a hybrid work arrangement. You will receive 18 remote workdays per quarter to use at your discretion, subject to manager approval. For example, you may choose to work in the office four days per week and take one remote day weekly (typically 13 weeks per quarter), leaving five additional remote days to be used as needed.

Regional Fundraising Focus

The position will be part of the EMEA Global Private Wealth ('GPW') fundraising team. The breadth of responsibility will focus on fundraising in the Nordics and Netherlands regions to meet fundraising objectives and build the HarbourVest brand.

Ideal Candidate

  • Has a proven track record of fundraising private markets funds and strategies
  • Has a live rolodex of fund selector, distribution head, and C‑suite roles within the Nordics and/or Netherlands regions
  • Can operate independently with little direction and extensive travel experience in a fundraising capacity
  • Has private equity or private markets experience
  • Has wealth management or private banking experience
  • Has knowledge of various wealth‑management client profiles including private banks, asset managers, fund distribution network platforms, multi‑family offices, and independent financial advisors

Responsibilities

  • Account Manager for Nordics and Netherlands‑based GPW clients and prospects
  • Originate new business to meet fundraising objectives
  • Take ownership of existing client relationships and cold call new prospects
  • Collaborate with the wider EMEA and APAC GPW teams to share market intelligence and relationships beyond Northern Europe
  • Work closely with marketing teams and adjacent institutional IR colleagues to build the HarbourVest brand throughout each region
  • Provide market feedback on investment strategy and product structuring parameters to feed into early product development phases
  • Perform other responsibilities as required

  • Ability to see the bigger picture and get to the heart of issues rapidly
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Desire to work in a team environment, often under pressure
  • Strong work ethic; genuine passion for excellence and constant improvement
  • Personal and professional integrity of the highest order
  • Fluency in English and preferably one additional European language (Dutch or any of the Nordics languages)

Education Preferred

  • BS/BA or equivalent; MBA, CFA, CAIA beneficial

Experience

  • 10+ years’ experience in institutional and/or private client financial sales, business development, and client service, with experience in and detailed understanding of private markets and baseline understanding of product structuring
