The Role
We are looking for an experienced Regional Operations Manager – Traffic Management to take responsibility for the operational performance of multiple Traffic Management depots across Reading and surrounding areas. This is a senior operational leadership position with significant responsibility. You will lead delivery across a multi-depot network, ensuring services are delivered safely, efficiently and profitably within a fast-paced environment incorporating both planned and reactive work. Working with regional and national clients across a broad range of commercial and industrial sectors, you will ensure consistently high levels of service while delivering against contractual SLAs, KPIs, budgets and commercial targets. You will play a key role in maintaining and enhancing the company's reputation for quality, reliability and customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Take overall responsibility for the delivery of budget.
- Lead a high-volume, 24/7 reactive and planned Traffic Management operation across a diverse client base.
- Ensure smooth, effective and proactive service delivery across the depot network.
- Drive consistency, quality and operational excellence across all service streams.
- Lead by example, embedding the company's values and creating a strong performance culture.
- Ensure customer requirements remain at the heart of operational decision-making.
- Manage the cost-effective delivery of services while maintaining exceptional standards of quality.
- Ensure client SLAs and KPIs are consistently achieved and exceeded.
- Act as the key operational point of contact for day-to-day issues across the region.
- Work closely with Depot Managers to drive accountability, productivity and profitability.
- Motivate, coach and develop teams to adopt a right-first-time approach.
- Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency, customer service and commercial performance.
- Ensure teams consistently deliver a safe, compliant and professional service.
- Build strong relationships with clients, colleagues and key stakeholders across the business.
About You
The successful candidate will be an experienced operational leader with a strong background in Traffic Management and/or a reactive service environment. You will be commercially aware, highly organised and confident managing multiple teams and locations. Most importantly, you'll be able to demonstrate a track record of leading people and delivering profitable operational performance.
Essential Experience & Qualifications
- Previous experience in an Operational Management role.
- Proven experience leading and supervising large teams.
- Strong experience within Traffic Management or a similar reactive service environment.
- NRSWA accreditation.
- LANTRA 12ABCD qualification.
- Good knowledge of permit schemes.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Confident using operational systems and technology.
- Strong commercial and financial awareness.
- Excellent leadership, coaching and motivational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, reactive environment.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and make effective decisions.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
