We are currently recruiting for a market leading construction contractor who are known for their exceptional service to customers and excellent reputation in the industry. Due to that growth, they are looking to expand their team with someone who is used to managing/dealing with accounts, experience in the construction/building materials industry and be a real people-person!
Role & Responsibilities
- Relationship management and early-stage project development (REBA stages 1–2), not closing or pricing deals.
- Promoting the company and their services to the marketplace.
- Fully researching opportunities to ensure that they match the company objectives.
- Producing accurate reports for Management.
- Building and maintaining relationships with stakeholders at all levels within the construction industry.
- Effectively planning, face‑to‑face pitching and qualifying opportunities in a business development/sales role.
- Managing multiple accounts, opportunities to maintain pipeline momentum.
Candidate Profile
- Must-have experience selling into the same customer base: architects, cost consultants, project managers, and main contractors within the commercial construction sector.
- Strong field‑based sales experience, with a proven track record of networking, building, and maintaining long‑term relationships at partner/director level.
- Ideal background: Facades, waterproofing, roofing, or other specialist subcontractor trades (e.g., M&E, demolition, ceilings) with a focus on relationship/account management rather than transactional sales.
- Ability to manage and grow existing accounts.
- Comfortable with a consultative, value‑add approach rather than hard selling or chasing quick wins.
- Ideally have a black book of contacts in the London commercial construction market.
- Must be willing to travel to London and Essex.
Compensation & Benefits
- Basic Salary: £70,000 – £100,000 (negotiable based on experience)
