Reporting To: Director – Western Europe

Location: Slough or Weybridge

Salary: Β£100,000–£120,000 (dependent on experience)

Type: Full Time, Permanent (Hybrid: 3 days office / 2 days home)

About the Role

We\’re looking for a dynamic, commercially-driven Buying Director to lead our European health & beauty buying strategy. This pivotal role offers the chance to shape product vision, accelerate category growth, and strengthen supplier partnerships across multiple international markets.

As a key member of the leadership team, you will guide a high-performing buying function, developing a trend-led and commercially robust product offering spanning own-label, branded, and exclusive ranges. This is an opportunity to make a real impact in a fast-moving retail landscape.

What You\’ll Do

  • Define and deliver the long-term European buying strategy for health, beauty, wellness, and personal care categories.
  • Lead, inspire, and grow a talented buying team, fostering innovation, accountability, and high performance.
  • Use insights, data, and market trends to create differentiated category plans that drive sales and margin growth.
  • Build and manage supplier relationships, securing exclusivity, innovation, and scale across Europe.
  • Develop promotional and pricing strategies that balance immediate trading success with sustainable growth.
  • Collaborate with marketing, supply chain, digital, and finance teams to ensure seamless execution.
  • Provide strategic commercial input at board level, influencing transformation and expansion initiatives.
  • Champion the customer, ensuring product ranges remain trend-led, relevant, and aligned with evolving consumer needs.

About You

  • Senior-level experience in buying or trading within Health, Beauty, FMCG, or Retail.
  • Strong strategic thinker with a proven ability to translate vision into results.
  • Expert in supplier management and negotiation, with experience driving large-scale joint business plans.
  • Demonstrated success in leading, coaching, and inspiring multi-category teams.
  • Highly analytical, using data to inform decisions and strategy.
  • Deep understanding of customer behaviour, category drivers, and the competitive retail landscape.
  • Collaborative, influential, and confident engaging at senior executive level.
