My client is a leading player in the building materials sector, seeking a driven and commercially astute Area Sales Manager to accelerate growth across the RMI (Repair, Maintenance & Improvement) market and house builder segment.
This is a high-impact, field-based role suited to a proactive sales professional who thrives on building relationships, winning specifications, and delivering measurable growth.
As an Area Sales Manager, you will play a pivotal role in expanding market share and driving revenue through strategic engagement with merchants, house builders, contractors, and installers.
- Conducting a minimum of 16 merchant visits per week, targeting A–C customer segments to unlock incremental growth opportunities
- Proactively engaging national and regional house builders to secure product specifications and generate long-term value
- Driving specification wins across both specified and non-specified projects, particularly within roofing and construction product categories
- Collaborating closely with contractors and installers to ensure successful delivery of project specifications
- Managing sales forecasts and demand planning in line with business objectives
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date sales activity within CRM systems (C4C)
You are a commercially minded sales professional with a strong track record in the construction or building materials sector.
- Sales & Negotiation Expertise: Proven ability to develop strategic sales plans, negotiate effectively, and consistently close deals
- Relationship Management: Strong experience managing merchant, house builder, and contractor relationships
- Commercial Acumen: Experience in demand planning and pipeline management
- CRM & Data Analysis: Proficient in CRM systems (ideally C4C) with a data-driven approach to decision-making
- Understanding of roofing or construction materials (or similar technical products)
