A leading manufacturer in the roofing industry is seeking an Area Sales Manager to drive growth and build strong relationships with specialist roofing contractors across a designated region. This is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated sales professional with technical knowledge of roofing systems to make a real impact.

Key Responsibilities

  • Achieve annual sales targets across a full range of roofing products, maintaining the right sales mix and margin.
  • Recruit a minimum of 5 new specialist roofing contractors (SRI) per quarter, each with a projected annual spend of £10k+.
  • Develop and support existing SRI contractors, helping them progress through tiered partnership levels.
  • Generate new business opportunities across sectors such as property management, education, healthcare, housing associations, and local authorities.
  • Provide material costings for projects under 100m² and submit at least one case study per quarter.
  • Maintain and expand the contractor base while keeping up to date with market trends and competitor activity.
  • Attend trade shows and seminars as needed, and contribute to internal reporting and forecasting.

What You’ll Need

  • In-depth knowledge of roofing build-ups (warm, cold, inverted) and application methods (bonded, mechanically fixed, ballasted, green roofs).
  • Understanding of construction project roles and contractual relationships.
  • Familiarity with relevant British and European standards and external regulatory bodies.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word) and CRM systems.
  • Strong planning, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • A full UK driving licence and the ability to travel across the region.
