Rothay Garden by Harbour Hotels is a boutique four AA Silver Star hotel set within two acres of beautiful riverside gardens on the edge of the picturesque village of Grasmere, in the heart of the Lake District. Home to a renowned two AA Rosette restaurant, luxurious accommodation, and the tranquil Riverside Spa, we pride ourselves on delivering exceptional hospitality in one of the UK's most stunning destinations. Following our recent addition to the Harbour Hotels collection, we're continuing to invest in our people, property, and guest experience.
We are looking for a reliable, practical, and hardworking Maintenance Team Member to join our team on a part-time basis, working three days per week. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys a varied role and takes pride in maintaining high standards within a luxury hospitality environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out general maintenance and repairs throughout the hotel and grounds.
- Complete basic plumbing, painting, decorating, carpentry, and minor electrical maintenance (where appropriate).
- Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance to ensure all facilities remain in excellent condition.
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests from guests and colleagues.
- Maintain outdoor areas, pathways, and gardens to a high standard.
- Liaise with external contractors for specialist repairs and servicing.
- Ensure all work is carried out safely and in line with health and safety regulations.
- Keep maintenance equipment, tools, and records organised and up to date.
What We're Looking For
- Previous experience in a maintenance, facilities, or handyman role.
- Practical skills across a range of general building maintenance tasks.
- Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and prioritise tasks effectively.
- A positive, reliable, and flexible approach to work.
- Full UK driving licence is desirable but not essential.
