About the role

You will be responsible for coordinating the effective use of Group fleet and plant assets. Using telematics‑led monitoring, the role will support safe, compliant operations across all service areas. The role holder will oversee the utilisation of fleet and plant assets, including insurance, MOT, servicing and licence compliance, and the day‑to‑day operational management of the fleet. The postholder will maintain accurate plant asset and risk registers, ensure competence checks are completed prior to use, and support health and safety through proactive HAVS monitoring and reporting. The role holder will provide management information to managers and supervisors to identify and address risks or breaches of policy. A key element of the role will be the acquisition and disposal of fleet and plant through procurement initiatives, maximising value for money and the Group’s purchasing power.

About you

  • Experience of coordinating fleet and plant across teams to optimise utilisation and reduce downtime.
  • Experience of managing telematics and integrating with WMS to produce utilisation and driver behaviour reports.
  • Detailed understanding of fleet compliance, including MOT, insurance and licence checks.
  • Significant experience of administering compliance processes (MOT, servicing, insurance, licence checks) and maintaining asset and risk registers.
  • Highly developed skill in coordinating cross‑functional teams and developing fleet policies to optimise deployment.
