Pay: £13.28 per hour (based on a 40 hour week). Working hours: 7:30am – 5:30pm, full time with some weekend shifts.

Summary of Position

We are looking for a Chef/Cook with culinary and management experience to join our team. The role includes kitchen functions such as ordering supplies, preparation, maintenance of quality standards, sanitation and supervision of kitchen staff.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Support the preparation, cooking and serving of meals and snacks throughout the day in line with residents’ preferences and dietary needs (diabetics, texture‑modified food, vegetarian).
  • Stock management and ordering of supplies.
  • Menu planning.
  • Maintain food safety checks and records as per company requirements.
  • Adhere to company policy and procedures.
  • Follow Health & Safety procedures.
  • Ensure all equipment and food service areas are kept clean and in excellent working condition.
  • Work with the Activities Team to cater for special events within the home.
  • Manage budgets.
  • Supervise kitchen staff and complete employee supervision records promptly.
  • Rota scheduling.

Essential Characteristics

  • Previous experience working in a care setting.
  • Qualification(s) in catering.
  • Qualification(s) in food safety/hygiene.
