- Summary of Role
- Ensure the company complies with current regulations, accepted professional standards, policies and procedures, and legislation (including data protection, the Equality Act and health and safety).
- Drive continuous improvement with focus on engagement & welfare, maximising productivity, devolving HR responsibilities to line managers and building leadership capability.
- Support the transformation and strengthening of the organisational culture, ensuring company values are displayed.
- Provide professional support and advice to transform and develop the organisation, ensuring managers are skilled and enabled to manage workforce issues.
- Support the development of effective employment policies across Harbour Healthcare with senior managers and staff as appropriate.
- Coach, mentor and support staff to identify strengths and development needs, championing an open, inclusive culture of diversity, equity and inclusion.
- Design and develop HR training programmes for management and employees to incorporate best practice and lessons learned.
- Consult with management on performance, organisational and leadership matters; conduct needs assessments to enhance employee performance and overall company performance.
Key Responsibilities
Team
- Lead by example, creating excellent working relationships and ensuring Harbour Healthcare values are delivered professionally and maintained with teams, company and clients.
- Regularly coach, mentor and support regional managers and high‑potential colleagues to identify strengths and development needs, maintain effective relationships and encourage retention; attend stakeholder meetings to improve communication.
- Support a robust up‑skilling programme where gaps are identified.
Service
- Ensure managers develop their teams to deliver safe care and support Regional Teams accordingly.
- Work closely with support office departments to ensure that the employee journey is delivered timely.
- Consistently champion and drive Harbour Healthcare as the employer of choice.
- Support the HR team to resolve concerns and complaints promptly, identifying early loss risks or poor service provision.
Compliance
- Work with the Senior Regional Team on continual improvement of quality systems and processes.
- Provide expert advice and support, proactively managing risk and guiding colleagues.
- Ensure all HR policies, procedures and documentation are effectively implemented across Harbour Healthcare.
- Personal Specification
- Completed or working towards a CIPD Level 5 (or equivalent).
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements, legislation, guidance and best practice in line with CQC.
- Experience writing policies and procedures (desired).
