Senior Asset Integrity Engineer

Purpose of Role

The Senior Asset Integrity Engineer plays a key role in leading, coordinating the delivery of an integrated asset integrity management programme across pressure systems, structures and pipelines to ensure safe, reliable and compliant operations. The role provides technical input in risk-based decision making, risk-based inspection, integrity assessment, anomaly management and implementation of cost‑optimised inspection and maintenance strategies that manage risk and prevent major accident hazards. The Senior Integrity Engineer plays a vital role coordinating the strategic work programme into annual prioritised scopes to ensure the safe, environmentally responsible, cost‑effective and timely execution of the asset integrity inspection programme.

Critical Responsibilities (MAE/MATTE/HSES)

• Ensure that all work identified by risk‑based programmes is prioritised and prepared for work execution in a timely manner and meets the company’s planning process.
• Support the company’s contracting companies enabling them to deliver the asset integrity management programme in a safe manner complying with all regulatory requirements, legislation and Harbour Energy HSES Procedures.
• Ensure the integrity of safety critical barriers by ensuring plant, equipment, pressure systems and pipelines are inspected, maintained and tested to prevent a loss of containment or structural failure.
• Lead the integrated team in the identification, assessment and communication of asset integrity risk ensuring regulatory and code compliance and the prevention of MAE, MATTE.
• Ensure as‑found anomalies of Safety and Environmentally Critical Elements are assessed, prioritised and defects are managed effectively and proactively for ongoing integrity.

Areas of Accountability, Responsibility and Competence

• For the technical integrity and delivery of the asset group risk‑based programmes.
• Leadership of a multi‑disciplined integrity team to mentor and coordinate technical delivery across pressure systems, structures and pipelines.
• Accountable for allocating workload, setting priorities and ensuring delivery against agreed plans and milestones.
• Accountable for strategic planning and defining annual budget to deliver an integrated asset integrity of work.
• Accountable for delivering the output of risk‑based programmes to ensure the inspection, monitoring and testing activities are clearly defined in preparation for handover to delivery lead execution.
• Engaging with the multi‑discipline team to ensure asset threat assessments are undertaken and risks are understood and effectively risk ranked and communicated.
• Accountable for budget forecasting and cost optimisation across the asset group and track expenditure against budget, reports and assess variances and optimisation opportunities.
• Accountable for ensuring asset integrity performance is monitored and reported in line with defined KPIs, dashboards, risk matrices and barrier health metrics.
• Accountable for driving continuous improvement in the asset integrity programmes, anomaly and defect management.
• Accountable for ongoing engagement and communication with Asset Operations Managers and Delivery Leads to ensure the asset integrity risk is effectively managed.
• Accountable for demonstrating ongoing leadership and implementing internal governance for the asset group that ensures ongoing performance of the integrated team.
• Accountable for the development and performance management of the integrated team.
• Accountable for leading and always promoting Harbour core values within the integrated team and wider asset integrity team.

Critical Skills, Qualifications, Experience, etc.

• Educated to engineering degree level or satisfactory equivalent e.g. HND/HNC plus preferable NDT qualifications/experience and/or vocational certificates.
• Track record of continuous professional development e.g. Chartered/Incorporated Engineer via a recognised engineering body.
• Shows understanding of Harbour Energy HSEQ Policies and Business Management System (BMS).
• Experience in mechanical/asset integrity programmes and conversant with UK regulatory environment, e.g. PSSR, PSR, Safety Case, verification etc.
• Conversant with mechanical design codes and have ability to carry out fitness‑for‑service calculations.
• Familiar with the operation of the Maintenance Management System.
• Experience within inspection team environment, displaying integrated team working.
• Accomplished planning and organisational skills.
• Effective communication and networking skills.
• Occasional offshore travel where needed to support the business and build relationships with asset management and work execution teams and OIEs.
• Track record of continuous professional development.
