Purpose of Role: Responsibility for the management of Harbour Energy’s voluntary and compliance Carbon trading registries and assets.

Areas of Accountability, Responsibility and Competence:

  • Lead all compliance actions to ensure Harbour’s compliance with all relevant carbon trading schemes (UKETS, EUETS).
  • Subject matter expert on compliance and voluntary carbon trading markets, monitoring market levels and providing market commentary for internal stakeholders.
  • Manage, track and record movements in Harbour Energy’s inventory of carbon allowances across all registries, carrying out compliance and voluntary surrenders as required.
  • Coordinate with trading team to ensure that Harbour has the necessary inventory to meet its carbon compliance deadlines.
  • Act as key contact with registries, managing administration of both compliance and voluntary registry accounts and ensuring that Harbour has the necessary registry accounts.
  • Manage communications with internal and external asset managers and joint venture equity partners regarding trading strategy for individual assets as advised by trading team.
  • Input into Harbour’s voluntary carbon offset purchasing strategy.
  • Track and manage Harbour's voluntary carbon offset portfolio.
  • SME for developments in the regulatory environment, as well as having a thorough understanding of rules and regulations within the carbon markets.
  • Assist in the further automation and digitisation of reporting within Harbour Energy’s Carbon compliance and voluntary carbon trading business.
  • Working with legal to execute non-standard contract documentation.
  • Calculate monthly accruals for emissions costs for all stakeholders.
  • Migrate regulatory carbon management processes onto Aspect CTRM.

Other: Lead compliance with the Harbour Energy Commodity Trading Standard and all applicable external regulatory regimes.

Health and Safety Environment: Ensure that all activities are carried out in a safe manner complying with all regulatory requirements, legislation and Harbour Energy HSES procedures.

  • Expertise in trading laws and regulations.
