Harbor Point Behavioral Health Center offers intensive residential treatment services within a secure setting. Our programs are designed to meet the needs of youth ages 7-17 who are experiencing emotional, psychiatric and educational difficulties. In addition to our general psychiatric programs, we also offer specialty programs for youth with more serious challenges. Harbor Point and its programs are fully accredited by The Joint Commission and the Virginia Association of Independent Specialized Educational Facilities. We are licensed by The Virginia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services and the Virginia Department of Education. We are a TRICARE-approved and certified facility.
Responsibilities
- Provides clinical leadership and supervision to direct care staff.
- Works in association with the DON, CEO and Director of Clinical Operations to ensure consistency in care provided by the residential care staff and the clinical staff.
- Implements programming and provides ongoing training and supervision to create and maintain a safe and therapeutic milieu.
- Coordinates and assigns direct care staff to the units and facilitates accurate communication among flex pool staff.
- Assists with daily time and attendance.

This position requires the ability to work and concentrate amidst distractions such as noise, conversation and foot traffic; handle interruptions often and be able to move from one task to another; be flexible and not easily frustrated in dealing with differences of opinions. Individual must be able to remain on his/her feet for long periods of time. This position requires frequent walking around the building to supervise staff or assist staff during a crisis. Ability to express and exchange ideas via spoken word during activities in which they must convey detail or important spoken instructions to others accurately, sometimes quickly and loudly. Ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach, stand, walk, push, pull, lift, grasp, and be able to perceive the attributes of objects such as size, shape, temperature, and/or texture by touching with skin, particularly that of the fingertips. Hearing to perceive the nature of sound with no less than 40 db loss @ 1000 Hz, and 2000 Hz with or without correction; ability to perceive detailed information through oral communication and to make fine discriminations in sound. Perform repetitive motions with wrists, hands and fingers. Individual must be able to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and to be able to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Work requires a minimum standard of visual acuity with or without correction that will enable people in the role to complete administrative and clerical tasks and visually observe patients within the facility and in therapeutic activities. While worker may possibly be subjected to temperature changes, the worker is generally not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions as they work predominantly inside. Must be able to set and maintain therapeutic distance with clients; maintain therapeutic boundaries during treatment and following discharge.
