Responsibilities:
- Operate Cranes: Safely and efficiently operate various types of cranes (mobile, tower, crawler, etc.) to lift, move, and position loads.
- Load Handling: Assess the weight and size of loads to determine safe lifting methods. Secure loads with appropriate rigging gear.
- Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance checks on cranes and report any faults or defects to ensure the equipment is in good working order.
- Safety Compliance: Follow all health and safety regulations and site-specific rules. Attend safety briefings and training sessions as required.
- Communication: Work closely with the site management team, signalers, and other crane operators to ensure smooth and safe operations.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of crane operations, maintenance logs, and any incidents or near misses.
- Problem Solving: Identify and address any issues or obstacles during operations, ensuring minimal disruption to the project timeline.
- Site Preparation: Assist in preparing the site for crane operations, including setting up and dismantling cranes as needed.
Qualifications:
- Certification: Valid CPCS (Construction Plant Competence Scheme) card or equivalent crane operator certification.
- Experience: Previous experience operating cranes in a construction or industrial environment (1 year preferred).
- Knowledge: Understanding of crane load charts, rigging methods, and health and safety regulations.
- Skills: Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work well in a team.
- Physical Fitness: Good physical condition, with the ability to work in various weather conditions and at heights.
- Education: Certificate of Higher Education (preferred).
Schedule:
- Monday to Friday: Regular working hours.
- Weekend Availability: Potential for weekend work based on project needs.
