Responsibilities
- Examine and sort rough diamonds based on size, quality, and characteristics.
- Use magnification tools to inspect diamonds for flaws, inclusions, and other imperfections.
- Accurately classify diamonds into categories based on established criteria and industry standards.
- Maintain detailed records of sorted diamonds, including grading reports and inventory logs.
- Ensure that sorted diamonds meet quality standards and report any discrepancies.
- Safely handle and store diamonds, ensuring security protocols are followed to prevent loss or theft.
- Work closely with gemmologists, quality control specialists, and other team members to ensure consistency in grading and sorting.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in diamond sorting, grading, or a related field is preferred.
- A diploma or certification in gemology is advantageous.
- Excellent attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and the ability to use magnification tools and other equipment.
- Understanding of diamond grading criteria and industry standards.
