Harbor is seeking out a non-billing Medical Assistant to join our Bowling Green team!
This position is responsible for patient care under the direction of medical leadership, and/or a licensed health care professional.
Position is full-time and is first shift.
Education/Experience/Other Requirements
- Completion of a Medical Assistant program through an accredited college or university.
- Previousexperience in Mental Health preferred.
- Must be CMAor RMA test eligible. CMA or RMA prior to employment preferred.
- Must be able to performclinical and clerical dutiesas needed.
- Electronic Medical Records experience preferred.
- Mustdemonstrateexcellent customer service skills and a strong commitment towards achieving customer/patient satisfaction.
- Must be proficient andaccuratein data entry and be able to navigate through Microsoft Windows based applications.
- Must be able to communicate clearly and effectively with a variety of people and be a team player.
- When applicable, non-licensed staff willbe requiredto complete 20 hours of CEUs every24 months.
- BLS and NCI/CPI Certificationsrequiredwithin90 daysof employment.
Essential Job Competencies/Primary Duties
- Assistsprovider withpatient care.
- Provides Patient/Family education.
- Assistpatientswith medicationprescriptions and testing procedures as directed by providers.
- May assume responsibilities ofdeterminingand responding to the needs of patients and visitors when they contact the practice either by phone or in person.
- May be requiredto fill in for front desk staff if needed.
- Answers and/or triagespatientphonecalls.
- Assistsclinical staff and/or providers asneeded.
- Provides quality andtimelysupport to both internal and external customers and strives for customer satisfaction.
- Documents in a clear, efficient, and effective manner, in conjunction with leadership and Harbor guidelines.
- Attends meetings asappropriateand serves on office committees as assigned.
- Keepscurrent withtrends and developments related to essential jobcompetencies anddemonstratescontinued growth.
- May float to other locations to accommodate client or agencyneed.
