Labcorp is seeking a Technical Specialist to join our team at Eye, Suffolk. Work Schedule: Monday - Friday – 37.5hrs. Due to the remote location of this site, there are no public transport links available.
Responsibilities
- Lead Method Development activities pertaining to difficult to test chemicals.
- Train and direct less experienced laboratory personnel by developing and implementing training plans.
- Review work of others for overall accuracy, timeliness, completeness and soundness of technical judgement.
- Set up and perform a variety of studies/analyses using appropriate instrumentation with routine and non-routine methods.
- Conduct most processes/tasks in support of a broad portfolio of study types.
- Critically review study documentation and suggest changes where appropriate.
- Provide input and participate in study meetings (i.e., pre‑initiation meetings).
- Review own work for overall accuracy, timeliness, completeness, and soundness of technical judgement.
- Deliver results within agreed timeframes, whilst recognising changes in priorities.
- Write, review and revise standard SOPs.
- Prepare results and presentations based on the work performed.
- Participate in internal method development projects, as appropriate, and act as the department process owner when required.
- Conduct all work in compliance with appropriate company standards, GLP, GCP, GMP (where appropriate) and regulatory guidelines specified in the study plans, protocols, or work agreements governing the work in which they are involved.
Qualifications
- Degree in Chemistry.
- Experienced in the use of standard laboratory equipment within Physical Chemistry testing, e.g., LC‑MS/MS, GC‑MS, HPLC‑UV.
- Provide technical advice and expertise on the conduct of particular techniques or phases of a study and interpretation of results for inclusion into study reports, as well as training and mentoring operational staff in the conduct of these studies.
- Developed an expertise in the specific field of Physical Chemical Testing, pertaining to OECD 100 series testing and CIPAC.
- Some experience of training team members.
- Proficiency with IT and computer software packages such as Excel, and proven numeracy skills.
- Organised and self‑motivated with the ability to use own initiative.
- Strong knowledge of GLP.
