Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced and reliable Short Order Cook/ Front Of House Assistant to join our team at a busy soft play centre. The role involves preparing and serving food quickly and efficiently in a fast-paced, family-focused environment while maintaining the highest standards of food safety and cleanliness.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and cook short-order menu items (e.g. hot snacks, children's meals, light lunches)
  • Ensure food is prepared, cooked, and presented to a high standard
  • Serve Customers, provide exceptional customer service with good attention to detail
  • Work efficiently during peak periods, including weekends and school holidays
  • Follow all Food Standards Agency (FSA) guidelines, including food hygiene, allergen awareness, and temperature controls
  • Complete daily cleaning schedules, temperature checks, and food safety records when required
  • Work closely with all team to ensure smooth service
  • Provide a friendly and professional service in a child-friendly environment
  • Work alongside other front of house team clearing tables and maintaining good standards of cleanliness

Essential Requirements

  • Previous experience as a short order cook and café service in a similar role (essential)
  • Good working knowledge of FSA food safety and hygiene guidelines (essential)
  • Level 2 Food Safety & Hygiene Certificate (or willingness to obtain)
  • Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong understanding of allergen management
  • Reliable, punctual, and well-organised
  • Ability to work as part of a team

Working Hours

Shifts will include weekdays, weekends, and school holidays. Flexibility is essential due to the nature of the business.
