We are recruiting for a Health and Safety Consultant for a permanent part time basis (2-3 days per week). The role is based in Co Antrim but there will be travel involved throughout Northern Ireland.
The Health and Safety Consultant will provide Health and Safety advice and ensure compliance. The Health and Safety Consultant will be responsible for:
- Conducting risk assessments, audits, and inspections (on-site and remote)
- Supporting the implementation and maintenance of ISO systems
- Developing and maintaining health and safety policies and procedures
- Advising on health and safety compliance and best practices
- Assisting with emergency response planning and reviews
- Investigating incidents and recommending corrective actions
- Communicating health and safety information clearly to staff
- Preparing reports and presenting findings to management
- Collaborating with stakeholders to embed safety into daily operations
- Performing other duties to support health and safety objectives
What you need to have for the Health and Safety Consultant role:
- Hold a NEBOSH National General Certificate
- 3-5 years experience in a health and safety advisory/managerial role
- Demonstrating experience with ISO 9001 and 14001 systems
- Understanding health and safety legislation and compliance
- Producing accurate, detailed, and consistent work
- Taking a proactive, solution-focused approach
- Communicating effectively, both in writing and verbally
- Working independently and as part of a team
- Acting with honesty, professionalism, and strong ethics
Desirable criteria:
- Being a Certified Member of IOSH
- Holding a Level 3 Award in Education and Training (or similar)
- Having a Manual Handling instructor qualification
A full driving licence and access to a form of transport is required for this position as there will be travel involved throughout Northern Ireland.
