Finance Assistant We are working with a client based in Portadown to recruit for a Finance Assistant to join their administration team.
This is a permanent, part-time position offering flexible working hours of 2025 hours per week.
The Finance Assistant will be responsible for: Maintaining accurate financial records using Microsoft Excel and accounting software.
Assisting with the preparation of monthly and annual accounts.
Reconciling bank accounts and investigating any discrepancies.
Supporting the annual audit process by preparing documentation and liaising with auditors.
Updating the Omega system, reconciling monthly standing orders, and assisting with the ongoing development and effective use of the system.
Preparing quarterly Gift Aid submissions to HMRC using Omega.
Processing payroll in accordance with HMRC regulations and company procedures.
Receiving, checking, and matching invoices with delivery notes before processing for approval.
Distributing bank statements to the relevant departments within the organisation.
Maintaining accurate records of organisation treasurers and authorised bank account signatories.
Assisting with statutory and regulatory returns and ensuring compliance with relevant deadlines.
Managing utility contract renewal administration (excluding negotiations).
Attending Finance Committee meetings as required (typically held during the evenings).
Providing general administrative support to the wider team What you will need for the Finance Assistant role: A minimum of 2 years' experience in a finance, accounts, or bookkeeping role.
Strong finance and accounting knowledge with the ability to manage multiple tasks.
Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy when processing financial information.
Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
Strong organisational and communication skills with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
