We are seeking a Nursery Room leader for the Preschool. Please only apply if you have a minimum level 3 childcare qualification alongside experience as a practitioner or room leader.
Responsibilities:
- Plan, prepare all staff learning and participate in activities that stimulate the interest of the children.
- Take the Equal Opportunities policy and diversity issues into account.
- Awareness of how skills and knowledge of books and play materials develop and celebrate diversity among the children within the local community.
- Work independently on your own initiative at times with support of the Manager and Directors.
- Communicate verbally and in writing with children, parents and external agencies.
- Supervise and delegate staff appropriately, with awareness of legislation requirements.
- Maintain routines.
- Work flexibly in response to service demands.
- Respond to reasonable requests and carry out duties as requested for the smooth running of the nursery.
- Take pride in our environment.
- Encourage equal opportunities and focus on safeguarding and well-being of the children at all times.
- Support and advise the rest of the team ensuring that management maintains good relations with staff, volunteers, students and parents.
- Provide an emotionally and psychologically safe environment for the children in our care, including any visitors.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Minimum Level 3 childcare qualification.
- 1 year nursery, childcare, and management experience preferred.
- GCSE or equivalent (preferred).
- Driving licence (preferred).
