Positive Futures is seeking caring, dependable and compassionate individuals who want to make a genuine difference by supporting people to live with greater independence, choice and control. As a Support Worker, you will provide high-quality, person-centred support to help people live as independently as possible and have choice and control over all aspects of their lives.
Working as part of a dedicated team, you will spend time getting to know the people you support, understand what matters to them, and help them work towards their individual goals. The role will involve supporting people with everyday living, building independence, maintaining key life skills and taking part in their local community. This may include:
- Supporting people with domestic tasks
- Healthy meal preparation
- Managing medication and finances as independently as possible
- Accessing appointments
- Keeping in touch with family and friends
- Participating in social, leisure, training, volunteering or employment opportunities where relevant
You will also support people to make informed choices, speak up for themselves, stay safe and healthy, and maintain their physical and emotional wellbeing. Personal care may be required where needed, always delivered with dignity and respect. You will also be responsible for maintaining accurate records and reports, using ICT systems appropriately, and working positively with colleagues, families, carers and other professionals.
Positive Futures has opportunities ranging from full-time contracts to part-time and bank/relief roles, and welcomes applications from candidates interested in a variety of working patterns.
Location: Omagh. Relief Support Worker roles are paid at Β£12.71 per hour.
What Positive Futures is Looking For:
This role would suit someone who is kind, patient and supportive, with a genuine interest in helping others. Formal qualifications are not required, but applicants should be able to demonstrate personal or work experience of providing care or support for someone. This could include caring for or supporting a child, family member or friend, volunteering, or completing a work placement where care or support was provided. Applicants should also have basic digital skills, for example the ability to record notes and use rota, HR or care systems.
For this role, applicants must have either a full, valid driving licence and access to a car insured for business purposes in order to transport people supported by Positive Futures, or a full, valid driving licence or ability to travel independently to meet the requirements of the post.
