Job Title Legal Secretary - Conveyancing Location Belfast Salary £27,500 - £30,000 per annum, depending on experience Part-time salary will be calculated pro rata. Contract Type Permanent | Full-time or Part-time Full-time: 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 9.00am-5.00pm, with a one-hour lunch break. Part-time: 28 hours per week across four days, with flexibility around the agreed working pattern. We are seeking an experienced Legal Secretary with previous conveyancing experience to provide high-quality administrative and secretarial support within a busy residential property team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Legal Secretary in Belfast who would like to join a progressive legal practice at an exciting stage of its growth. The position can be offered on either a full-time basis or, for candidates seeking greater flexibility, as a four-day working week of 28 hours. Working closely with the firm's conveyancing solicitors, you will play an important role in supporting the smooth administration of residential property transactions and helping to ensure clients receive a professional and responsive service throughout the conveyancing process. The opportunity may particularly suit an experienced Conveyancing Legal Secretary, Residential Conveyancing Secretary, Property Legal Secretary, Legal PA or Legal Administrator with previous experience supporting residential property matters. Previous conveyancing experience is essential for this particular position. However, if you have experience working within a legal practice but your background is in another area of law, we would still be keen to hear from you, as alternative current or upcoming opportunities may be available within the firm. Key Responsibilities Provide comprehensive secretarial and administrative support to conveyancing solicitors. Assist with the day-to-day management and administration of residential conveyancing files. Open, maintain and close client files accurately and efficiently. Prepare and draft correspondence and documentation as required. Produce documents and correspondence from digital dictation. Handle incoming telephone calls, directing enquiries appropriately and providing a professional service to clients. Liaise with clients and other parties involved in property transactions. Scan, print, organise and electronically file legal documents and correspondence. Maintain accurate and up-to-date electronic and paper records. Support solicitors with general administrative duties throughout the conveyancing process. Help ensure residential property matters progress efficiently while maintaining a high standard of client care. Person Specification / About You We would be keen to speak with candidates who can demonstrate: Previous experience working within conveyancing, ideally residential conveyancing. Strong legal secretarial, administrative or legal support experience. Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities. Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy. Confident written and verbal communication skills. A professional and approachable manner when dealing with clients and colleagues. Experience using Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook. Confidence working with digital documents, electronic filing systems and digital dictation. The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a busy legal team. A proactive and dependable approach to supporting solicitors and progressing client matters. Candidates with wider experience within a solicitor's office or legal practice are also encouraged to apply. While conveyancing experience is required for this vacancy, the firm's continued growth means other suitable legal secretarial, administrative or support opportunities may be available now or in the future.
