The Junior Editor will support the editorial and post‑production team across TV commercial projects, contributing to both picture editing and motion graphics. This role is ideal for a technically confident, creatively minded editor with solid After Effects skills, looking to develop within a fast‑paced commercials environment. Working closely with other Editors, Producers, and Post‑Production, the Junior Editor will cut content, create motion graphics elements, and help deliver broadcast‑ready commercials that meet UK advertising and technical standards.
Key Responsibilities- Edit TV commercials, cut‑downs, social versions, and alternative durations
- Support Senior Editors on offline edits, amends, and versioning
- Prepare agency and client review cuts
- Maintain clean timelines and well‑organised project files, following the agency’s in-house workflow and best practises
- Carry out basic QC checks prior to delivery
- Create and animate motion graphics including: On‑screen text and supers, Endframes, Logos and brand devices, Roundels, straps, offers, and legal text
- Implement client and agency brand guidelines accurately
- Adapt graphics across multiple durations and formats
- Work confidently in Adobe After Effects, integrating assets from design teams
- Prepare graphics for broadcast‑safe delivery (titles, text safe areas, legal legibility)
- Manage multiple versions for different durations (e.g. 60", 30", 20", 10")
- Support Clearcast approval processes, including clock numbers and re‑submissions
- Prepare final exports for agency, Clearcast, and broadcast delivery
- Liaise with producers, sound post, grade, and external suppliers as required
- Ensure edits comply with UK broadcast and advertising standards
- Proven experience editing video content in a production co or agency environment, 1-2 years
- Strong working knowledge of Adobe Premiere Pro and Adobe After Effects
- Experience creating motion graphics for broadcast or branded content
- Basic understanding of sound post, colour grading, and delivery workflows
- Good understanding of short-form/commercial formats, durations, and versioning
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow brand guidelines precisely
- Ability to work to tight deadlines and manage multiple amends efficiently
- Experience working specifically in TV commercials
- Familiarity with Clearcast, clock numbers, and UK advertising compliance
- Knowledge of broadcast‑safe graphics, text legibility, and legal requirements
- Knowledge of DaVinci Resolve
- Experience preparing content for social and digital platforms alongside TV
- Creative, proactive, and eager to learn
