ARE YOU LOOKING TO MAKE A POSITIVE DIFFERENCE TO PEOPLE'S LIVES? Happy Futures West Yorkshire are looking for a Senior Support Worker to join us supporting adults with learning disabilities and mental health needs, helping them to live in their community and have a great quality of life.
You will support people to develop social, coping, and communication skills and be supported by qualified practitioners. You must be a team player, able to lead at times, be patient, and have a sense of humour. You should use positive, calm, and clear communication to support their needs.
Location: Happy Futures West Yorkshire, Ackworth, West Yorkshire
Pay: Β£13.65 per hour
Part time: 26 hours per week (minimum)
Shift pattern: Days, Evening and alternative weekends. 2 week rolling rota which includes alternate weekends. Willing to be part of the on-call rota. An enhanced DBS check is a requirement for the role.
Key Responsibilities:- Guide and lead the team/home through hands-on support
- Promote a positive and inclusive workforce culture
- Support the manager with administration duties if/when required
- Planning of shifts, to support activities, appointments etc.
- Liaise with professionals to support positive outcomes for individuals
- Support individuals with all aspects of daily living and enriching their lives
- Help individuals to access the community, take part in activities, go on day trips, bowling, cinema etc.
- Support them with their shopping
- Support with personal care and some continence care
- Support individuals with appointments
- Meal preparation and encouragement with a healthy balanced diet
- Administer medication and complete the relevant documentation accurately
- Promote a comfortable, safe, and warm environment where individuals can thrive
It is the nature of the service we provide that tasks and responsibilities are variable and unpredictable. All staff are therefore expected to work flexibly when the need arises, so that tasks not covered in this job description are undertaken. Individuals supported may display challenging behaviours, in which case training will be provided to minimise these behaviours.
