Business & Marketing Administrator (Nursery Based)

We’re looking for a Business & Marketing Administrator to support the Early Years Manager to drive both the occupancy and commercial performance of the nursery whilst supporting children’s growth and learning at Happy Days Nursery & Preschool, Portsmouth.

Our Business Administrator will work 30hours per week Monday to Friday, supporting the nursery’s occupancy, commercialperformanceand day-to-day operations.

About the role

As the Business and Marketing Administrator, you’ll

  • Manage nursery bookings and waiting list.
  • Manage applications for nursery education funding, ensuring accuracy and adherence to local authority and internal deadlines.
  • Provide administrative and operational support, including preparing documents, liaising with families, suppliers, and team members, and welcoming visitors.
  • Assistwith achieving occupancy, gross profit, and budget targets through financial tasks such as expense tracking, payroll, banking, and credit control.
  • Collaborate with the Marketing team on Social Media content and reviews.
  • Maintain compliance with statutory requirements and company policies.
  • Ensureaccuraterecord-keeping and efficient archiving in line with company procedures.

We’relooking for someone who

  • Is proficient in Microsoft Office, including Excel and Word.
  • Has strong administrative skills and experience in a fast-paced setting.
  • Is commercially aware with excellent organisational skills.
  • Has outstanding communication and relationship-building abilities, especially with parents and external stakeholders.
  • Has initiative and problem-solving capabilities, with the ability to work under pressure.

Great to have

  • Previous experience of working with Local Authority and their systems such as Grant Funding Portal would be an advantage.
