Happy Days Nursery Charlton Heights in Patchway is seeking a Lunch Cover Assistant to join their friendly and welcoming team.
What You Will Be Doing
Working 15 hours per week, Monday to Friday (all year round) over our busy lunch time this role is ideal for those looking for school hours. As Lunch Cover Assistant you will play a vital role in helping us inspire the future for our children, by offering them the very best care and education using our unique curriculum “Where Children Shine”. You will be responsible for providing a safe, supportive and enriching environment that fosters children’s development and well-being, particularly over the busy lunchtime period.
As part of this role, you will be an integral part of our children’s daily routines and you will support the staff team with lunch times, sleep times and supporting learning activities. You will juggle many different tasks as part of the role, working closely with the staff team to ensure that our children’s day is kept consistent, through a confident, positive and honest approach. You will support children during their mealtime and following all policies and procedures to keep our children safe and keep to all allergies and special dietary requirements, as well as having a good understanding of how to best safeguard our children and families.
Who We’re Looking For
Our ideal lunch cover assistant will have previous experience working within a nursery or an early year’s school environment. A relevant early year’s/childcare qualification (2 or above) whilst advantageous, is not essential for this role. You will have an ability to prioritise your work effectively and work confidently within a team environment, embodying our SHINE values (Support, Honesty, Inspiration, Nurturing and Empowerment) in everything you do. Many tasks will be completed on each working day, so great initiative and a “can do” attitude are vital for ensuring the smooth running of children’s daily routines and meaningful learning activities.
Each day you will work within a variety of policies and procedures, so experience working within these will be beneficial, with an ability to understand and implement these effectively after a robust induction being a crucial part of this role. As part of this you will understand children’s allergies and the impact this can have when procedures are not followed. You will be able to support our children to become independent learners through planning and supporting the team in delivering and observing meaningful activities. We work as a team throughout the nursery, so you will be able to support and adapt to the team with empathy and consideration, so every day may look different!
What We Can Offer You
- Competitive hourly wage of ÂŁ10.00 - ÂŁ13.83 per hour, dependent on age.
- 50% Childcare Discount
- Up to 4 Days gifted Christmas Closedown
- Ongoing professional development opportunities.
- Supportive and inclusive work environment.
- Opportunities for career growth within the organisation.
Happy Days Nurseries are committed to the safety and wellbeing of the children in our care, as such the successful post holder will be required to undergo a robust vetting process, including an enhanced DBS Check and Reference History Checks.
