This job is brought to you by Jobs/Redefined, the UK's leading over-50s age inclusive jobs board. We're building the next generation of employee benefits infrastructure. At Happl, we help global teams design, manage, and scale benefits that actually work for their people by using AI, across flex allowances, benefits, insurance, recognition, and wellbeing, all in one intelligent platform. Happl is backed by leading investors such as YCombinator, 6Degrees Capital, and more, known for backing leading companies such as Deel, Rippling, Airbnb, Coinbase, Dropbox, and most recently was awarded a place in the UK's top 100 startups for 2026.

About the role: As a Product Manager at Happl, you'll own the experience that employees and admins have every single day. That means the interface an employee opens to explore their benefits, the tools an HR admin uses to manage a global programme, and every AI-powered moment in between. You'll decide what gets built, why it matters, and what great looks like. This isn't a role for someone who maintains a roadmap. It's a role for someone who reimagines one. You'll bring genuine curiosity about how people experience products, a sharp instinct for what makes something delightful rather than just functional, and a forward-thinking perspective on where AI is taking the future of work and benefits. You'll work directly with Engineering, Design, Customer Success, and our customers themselves - turning insight into product decisions that compound over time.

The experience layer of Happl is one of our most powerful differentiators. When an employee genuinely loves using a benefits platform, and when an admin can run a complex global programme with confidence, that's what drives retention, advocacy, and growth. You'll be the person who makes that a reality.

What you'll be doing:

  • Owning the product vision and roadmap for the employee and admin experience on Happl, balancing near‑term customer needs with a bold, long‑term view of where the product should go.
  • Conducting deep user research with both employees and HR admins to understand pain points, motivations, and unmet needs - then translating those insights into product decisions with conviction.
  • Designing and shipping features that make benefits genuinely intuitive and personal for employees, reducing friction, increasing engagement, and creating moments of real delight.
  • Building admin tools that give HR and Finance teams clarity, control, and confidence - turning complex global benefits management into something that actually feels manageable.
  • Defining and owning the AI‑powered features that make Happl smarter - from intelligent recommendations and personalised nudges to automated workflows that save admins hours every week.
  • Working in close partnership with Engineering and Design to bring ideas to life quickly, iterating based on data and feedback without losing sight of the bigger vision.
  • Setting clear success metrics for every feature and initiative, using product analytics to understand what's working, what isn't, and what to do next.
  • Engaging directly with customers and prospects to validate ideas, gather feedback, and ensure the roadmap stays grounded in real‑world problems rather than internal assumptions.
  • Staying obsessively current on product design trends, AI capabilities, and the evolving landscape of HR technology and employee experience - bringing ideas that keep Happl genuinely ahead.
  • Partnering with Customer Success and Solutions teams to ensure new features are adopted well, understanding where customers are struggling and feeding that back into the product.
  • Communicating product direction clearly to the whole company, creating alignment and excitement around what's being built and why it matters.
  • Using AI tools like Claude and ChatGPT to accelerate your own workflows - from research synthesis and spec writing to competitive analysis and customer insight summaries.

What we're looking for:

  • 3+ years of product management experience, ideally in a B2B SaaS environment where you've owned both end‑user and admin‑facing surfaces.
  • A genuine passion for user experience - you think deeply about how people feel when they use a product, not just whether it functions correctly.
  • Proven ability to define and ship product that balances simplicity and power, making complex functionality feel effortless for the people using it.
  • Comfortable with data and product analytics (experience with tools like Amplitude, Mixpanel, or similar is a plus), using insight to drive decisions without getting paralysed by it.
  • Strong opinions about where AI is taking product and user experience, and hands‑on experience using AI tools in your day‑to‑day work.
  • A clear, compelling communicator who can articulate a product vision to a sceptical engineer and a nervous customer in the same afternoon.
  • Able to manage competing priorities and stakeholder perspectives without losing clarity about what actually matters most.
  • Naturally curious and future‑thinking - you read widely, question assumptions, and bring outside‑in thinking to every problem.
  • Experience working in a fast‑moving, early‑stage environment where the roadmap isn't handed to you and the best ideas come from listening carefully and thinking boldly.
  • Familiarity with the HR technology or employee benefits landscape is a bonus, but your instinct for great product experience matters more.

If you don't meet every requirement but feel this role fits your trajectory, we'd still love to hear from you.

What to expect: Product at Happl moves fast and the decisions are real. You won't be maintaining a backlog that someone else built - you'll be shaping the direction of a product that thousands of employees interact with every day. That's exciting, and it's also a genuine responsibility. The choices you make will have a direct impact on how people experience their benefits - and on the growth of the business. You’ll need to hold a long‑term vision while making short‑term calls with incomplete information. Some of those calls will be right. Some won't. What matters is that you move quickly, learn honestly, and keep the team pointed in the right direction. There will be moments of real ambiguity - where customer feedback pulls one way, data pulls another, and your instinct is all you have. You’ll need to back yourself.

The opportunity here is significant. You’ll be working on a product that is genuinely under‑served in the market, with the freedom to take it somewhere new. If you want to do the best product work of your career - and you're prepared to put in what that takes - Happl is a very good place to do it.

Why join Happl: Be part of building something that genuinely matters - the future of how companies support their people. Competitive salary and commission that reflects the impact you'll have. Real equity - a meaningful stake in what we're building together. Hybrid working from day one, with the trust and flexibility to do your best work.
