13-month contract starting late July 2026 in Halifax, West Yorkshire. Founded in 2004 by two Doctors, GAMA Healthcare helps prevent infections and saves lives through providing innovative solutions and exceptional aftersales support to customers. Our flagship disinfectant wipes and hand gels, Clinell, are a no. 1 brand in the NHS.

Microbiology is a core discipline within our Research & Development function - after all, without it, we wouldn't be able to prove how effective our products are against infection! As a result, we've created an exciting opportunity for a Microbiology, Biology, or other relevant Life Sciences student to join our R&D team for 13 months. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to gain hands-on microbiology experience throughout the product development life cycle. You'll be joining a fast-paced organisation with full support and mentoring from our experienced Microbiologists.

What can you expect to be doing?

  • Live GAMA's values: be passionate; win together; care; be curious and innovative; have fun!
  • Assist industry standard disinfection efficacy testing against bacteria, fungi, and viruses to underpin GAMA's new product development pipeline.
  • Support the daily lab activities through the culturing of organisms, media preparation, laboratory inventory control.
  • Apply microbiological techniques to further GAMA's R&D program.
  • Collect raw data through agreed methodology.
  • Maintain high standards of laboratory safety, quality, and cleanliness by following agreed procedures.

  • Studying towards a microbiology, biology, or other relevant life sciences degree.
