Drive the European Government Affairs Strategy for a Global Biotech Leader. Our brilliant client, a market-leading consultancy, is partnering with one of the world’s largest biotech companies to establish a new government affairs strategy within Europe. We are looking for a seasoned contractor to support the strategic development and delivery of an EU-wide public affairs function, working directly with senior leadership on both the consultancy and client side. This unique opportunity will thrust you straight into the heart of a high-profile, long-term project focused on policy and regulatory issues.
As such, it is essential that you have a demonstrable background in biotech, pharma, or health policy. You will not be considered without it. Naturally, you’ll be a public affairs, government relations, or EU policy advisory professional, while experience in market entry or investment strategies and the ability to navigate local ecosystems would also be a distinct advantage. This is a perfect role for proactive, independent thinkers with sound judgement who are comfortable under pressure and engaging with senior stakeholders. You’ll be commercially astute, a strategic thinker who’s not afraid to roll up their sleeves and will be at home with the EU regulatory landscape and biotech policy frameworks.
The role will be offered as a 12-month Fixed Term Contract (FTC) but with a strong ambition to transition into a permanent position.
Key Responsibilities – Government Relations and EU Policy Leadership- Design & deliver a comprehensive EU government relations strategy
- Map stakeholders & build engagement plans across EU institutions and member states
- Provide strategic counsel on health and industrial policy issues relevant to the biotech and CDMO sector
- Brief senior executives and act as a trusted advisor on public affairs matters
- Collaborate across internal health, trade and geographical practices
- Play a central role in embedding the function internally and identifying future growth opportunities
